A4 is divided into three parts, the first and longest part from Amsterdam through The Hague to Delft, the second part connecting the A20 and A15 in the city of Rotterdam, and the final part starting near Heijningen, where the A29 and A59 meet, to the Belgian border. Between A29 near Klaaswaal and interchange Sabina, the route is numbered A29, but this is part of Rijksweg 4. These three parts and the part of Rijksweg 4 that's designated as A29 are planned to be connected. Three European routes run concurrent with this highway at some point, E19, E30 and E312. The highway is long. The missing link between Delft and Vlaardingen has already been authorised by the theen minister of Transport and Waterworks Karla Peijs on the 14th of May 2006.
